SPS will not vote to elect Vuk Drašković Serbia’s foreign minister, according to a report in Večernje Novosti.

“This is the party’s High council firm decision. If the candidate for the post came from the ruling coalition or the Democratic Party, we would support that choice”, high party official Ivica Dačić said.

Asked whether his party considered continuing its engagement in a political cooperation with Koštunica’s party (DSS) after the next elections, Dačić emphasized that the Socialists’ favored coalition would include “DSS and the Radicals”.

Tadić, Dodik Meet in Belgrade

Serbian President and the Republic of Srpska Prime Minister discussed the Hague Tribunal, Kosovo and economy.

The statement after the meeting reads that Boris Tadić and Milorad Dodik have agreed all those guilty of war crimes should stand trial before the Hague Tribunal, and that the cooperation on the issue was very good.

President Tadić said the state Kosovo negotiating team has conducted talks under very difficult circumstances, while Dodik said the RS wished to contribute to the solution of the Kosovo problem. “We in the RS believe that Kosovo should remain a part of Serbia. A solution leading to Kosovo’s independence could lead to strong movements expressing dissatisfaction in the RS”, Dodik said.
