An OSCE-run training course for police chiefs from eight Southeast European states -- Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia -- was held in the Serbian town of Palic on 25-29 September. The initiative was aimed at strengthening management and leadership capacities of senior police staff and boosting collaboration in fighting organised crime.

State-owned railway carrier BDZ will ask the government to extend guarantees for a BGN 200 mln loan that will be solicited in '07 for the purchase of train cars and engines. The company plans to borrow a further BGN 211 mln in '08. Under BDZ's operating plan, the company will take out loans to the total amount of BGN 2.6 bn by '20.

Bulgarian real estate investment trust Premier Fund will hike its capital from BGN 0.65 mln to BGN 17 mln through the issue of BGN 16.25 mln new shares with nominal and issue price of BGN 1, said the Bulgarian stock exchange.

The minimum subscription target is 1 mln shares.

The REIT said in a filing with the local bourse a couple of days ago it pallned to build a commercial complex in its home city of Varna, on the Black Sea, using the proceeds from the upcoming capital raise.
