A financial agreement was signed between the European Commission and Kososvo. EUR 122 mln are dedicated to Kosovo under th Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA) annual programme

The annual 2008 IPA programme for Kosovo has been adopted by the Commission on 6 October 2008.

The EUR 122.7 mln programme covers 20 projects. They address a wide variety of issues including the strengthening of the rule of law, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the support to the media and civil society. Furthermore, they seek to improve the social and economic infrastructure in Kosovo, business development, municipal infrastructure, as well as promoting energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy. Certain projects will render support to the vital sectors of education, employment and health. The projects have been prepared in close cooperation with the authorities and beneficiaries in Kosovo.
